Anthony Wedman of Leon, Kansas passed from the loving arms of his family to the loving arms of His Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born in Caldwell, Kansas on January 11, 1935.  Anthony served his country proudly in the Army.  Anthony and Dorothy married November16, 1957.  He was a member of St. James Catholic Church of Augusta, Kansas for 31 years and was a member of the fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus.  Between his love of the land and love for his family, his career grew into an amazing lifetime adventure of farming and ranching.  He was proud of his family's faith and the way everyone helped each other out.  He enjoyed spending time on his ranch and going to rodeos and dances.  The most significant people in his life were his family.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Wedman;  his daughter, Judy Morgan and spouse Bob and their four children of Houston, Texas, his son, Tom Wedman and spouse Vicky and their five children and three grandchildren of Piedmont, Kansas, his daughter Brenda Elmer and spouse Dave and their three children of Indianapolis, Indiana, his son, Robert Wedman and four children and two grandchildren of Leon, Kansas; his siblings, Cecila Priesser of Cunningham, Kansas, Ida Mary Belmear of Medford, Oklahoma, Henry Wedman of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and John Wedman of Hutchinson, Kansas.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Cleo Wedman and Ida Mary Wedman; his brothers, Paul and Ralph; and his daughters, Linda and Darlena. 

Viewing will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta, Kansas.  Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta.  He will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery in Augusta, Kansas.
