If you have a gun.................

If you own a gun.  Know how to use it.  You just never know.

Note the following:

1. In each of his gunfights, the bad guy already had a gun in his hand, proving that your action can beat the bad guy's reaction... so be decisive in your action and make your first shot count!

2. Mindset and training trump equipment... Front Sight's motto is "Any gun with do, if YOU will do." Yes, some guns are better than others, but remember it is the man or woman who does the fighting, not the gun — and this man can fight!

3. Having a gun in close proximity to you is not as good as having a holstered gun on your person, with the ability (through training) to present it quickly and shoot it accurately.

4. Just because you get shot, does not mean you die. Even if you get shot, stay in the fight and finish your opponent!

5. Make your decision now on what you are willing to kill or die for, so that when the time comes there is no indecision in your mind.

6. Winning a gunfight when you are outnumbered or when your opponent already has a gun pointed at you is not just luck. It takes proper mindset, training, and practice to win time and time again... as this warrior demonstrates.

Good luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

Bad luck is when lack of preparation meets adversity.

Make your own "good luck" by being prepared.

Teresa, that is great advice, I hope I don't need it but  I agree with it and I have practiced alot to be ready if and when the time comes.

Varmit

Tersa, a very good post!  And I agree, practice..practice....practice.  Until it becomes second nature. When needed your firearm should feel as if it is a part of you.

The number of people doing serious practice at the Pistol range here is growing all of the time. People are concerened and rightly so.

Varmit

That is so true.  But like that video said, it is more than handling the gun and knowing how it works.  It takes mental preperation as well.  And, alot of folks don't practice when they are fatigued.  Usually, they are well rested and calm when they are at the range.  Try running in place for as fast as you can for 2 minutes, followed immediately by 20 or so jumping jacks, then 15 or so push ups, then immediately draw and fire at your target.  You'd be amazed at the difference.  When confronted by a combat situation adreline starts pumping, heartrate and respiration increases, all of these will affect your shooting.

Good advise Billy.. It does make a difference. The adrenaline in life threatening situations add another rattle to the situation too.
Do any of you carry or own guns?
Why?

... I carry a gun because...............................

I have a friend that says........" I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin"'.   ;D

Ya know, if you'd stayed in the army you could have been paid to shoot at people on a regular basis. ;D

Varmit

Thats true, but then I would have to serve under that S.O.B in office, sorry but my principles are not for sale.  Besides that, I don't WANT to shoot at anybody, but will if I have too.

Good grief, Diane, I don't think that is the reason our men and women join the military.
