This is the absolute truth of the matter that faces us and our nation today. And the one in the highest office is not acknowledging this fact - and this country is in peril. Pride in our country is of the up most importance - and belittling, it as Mr. O is doing, is a total injustice.

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... There are a whole lot of Americans that are not really Americans then, isn't there? Everyone that we hearing speaking in a different language, who clings to their old country's customs or wears their native costume? Are all these really just visiting and will go home soon?

Well I didn't start the thread, so I was just wondering why you were bringing him up. Yes, Jo said his name up there, but I think the big point she was trying to make is what Roosevelt said and that that should be the way it is....Good grief, not EVERYTHING has to be about the All knowing All Powerful Messiah...even he should rest once in awhile.
