You all want to know what I am MOST grateful for in my life?
  1. My Grandad Smith....he taught me things about various subjects that most people never talked about...especially with "impressionable" children
   2. My dad...he taught me perseverance in the face of antagonism, patience and responsibility.
   3. My GRANma Smith.....she taught me laughter in the face of adversity and taught me to never laugh in the face of peoples dreams no matter HOW seemingly unreachable they were. And quiet faith and to be kind....
   4. My Mom for the same plus her and all the rest for teachin me to make do and know it was ok to make do, didn't make me less.
   5. My Aunt Nellie for giving me appreciation and knowledge of nature and science and learning.
Most of all, I am grateful these people who were responsible for the raising of me didn't LIMIT my education, didn't forbid me to know things just because they may not have agrred with them, encouraged me to find out for myself, and respected the other guys point of view.........they taught me MY history.......gave me hope for my future.....and taught me narrow-minded points of view are the single most dangerous things in the world because they LIMIT the possibilities.

Just because people are going about their lives and not standing around knashing their teeth does not mean they are asleep, unpatriotic, stupid, or asleep to the "facts". It has been my experience in life that the quiet guy in the corner is the one you want at your back when the shit hits the fan cause the one doin all the instigatin is gonna run out on you. Steady....openminded....that's what this country needs at the moment more than ANYthing or ANYbody.

And yes Frank....in the 80's Bush had a drinkin problem and a nasty cocaine habit both of which he kicked.

Those are all good things, Pam.

But why not remove the fecal matter before it hits the fan, because when it does it is going to splatter, and leave a worse mess.
It is high time we eased the drought suffered by the Tree of Liberty. Let us not stand and suffer the bonds of tyranny, nor ignorance, laziness, cowardice. It is better that we die in our cause then to say that we took counsel among these.

One persons fecal matter is another persons chocolate pie.

I hear home schoolers all the time.....I'm schooling my kids myself so I know what they are being taught. I don't want them to know this or that or whatever.
I hear people say Public school is just government indoctrination, I'm schoolin my kids myself or sending them to some private school so I know what they are being taught.

Then I hear these SAME people bitching about censorship and the fairness doctrine. What the hells the difference?
That was my point..... I was taught there is merit in other points of view and even if you don't agree with em they give you food for thought and either change your view or solidify it for whatever reason. I have NEVER limited what my kids were "allowed" to know. In fact I've always done what was done for me...encouraged them to look for more and be open to the possibility that there may be a better way to skin a cat so to speak.

You can't have it both ways and it seems to me that that is really what people on BOTH sides in this country really want. They want the freedom of their OWN opinion and the censorship of everybody elses who doesn't agree with them.

Unless something on the level of a major miracle happens, there is no way to remove anyone at this point.  What is necessary now is to just keep a very close eye on what transpires from here on out.  But, don't hold your breath...Slick Willy was a totally hedonistic president...And got re-elected...Not to mention his partner-in-crime being put into a major player role in this current gov't.  Will we never be rid of that scum?  If Hillary is going to serve, then shouldn't the happy couple be required to return everything that they took out of the White House?  Or did their settle-up with the gov't. include getting to keep those items?  There's more than enough fecal matter in DC to keep us all busy with keeping an eye on "them".

pam

A huge pile of crap is basically what DC is.................

Kudos to you for home schooling your children, wish I could do the same.

I would say that that is what the left wants, if it weren't then Creationism would be taught along with evolution.  So would the fact the Rights of the States to goven themselves was the issue that started the Civil war, not slavery.  That we are a Republic not a democracy.  That it would be a choice to participate in school led prayer, not an out right ban.

The leftist want fairness for all, except those that disagree with them.

Dude I don't homeschool my kids! Two of them graduated from West Elk! My daughter graduates next year from a public high school. The only homeschooling I did was to teach them the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey would say.

My point was the homeschoolers I do know just do it to control what their kids are "allowed" to know.

You know what I pray every day out in public, doing whatever I'm doin. I have never felt the need to make a big production out of the fact that HEY YALL guess what I'M doin! I think the whole argument is ridiculous.

It should come as no surprise to people that the "popular" version of history is distorted to fit what makes somthin "look good"
everything IS.

The Coservatives would have it the same way if it was possible.

Pam there has never been any documented proof whatsoever, from a reliable source, that George W. Bush had a Cocaine problem or ever used Cocaine for that matter.  I was around him several times in the early 80s both at the Midland Country Club and at the Petroleum club, we sat behind them at the local football games. He drank some but lots of peopel did. Midland was the heart of the US Oil patch and lots of people in the Oil Patch drink some and maybe a lot, I doubt that he was a a complete alcoholic, I suppose that will always be debated, but to say he had a nasty Cocaine habit is totally irresponsible.
