Building Cleanup - IMPRESSIVE!

Sometimes we complain so much about something, and then when something does happen/change, we forget to say "thank you"!

I'd like to compliment Dorothy Tiffany for the wonderful job in getting the Heritage House cleaned up... and gone!  Amazing!  Just a smooth dirt lot.  Thanks to the volunteers (actually word is, they were paid) in getting the job done.

Yes, Diane.  It basically sat the same way the firemen left it until a few weeks ago.  Then it was cleaned up all in one day and the basement dug out and filled in smooth.  There are a couple of piles left at the back of the lot, but a HUGE, HUGE improvement over the dangerous, water-filled pit it was!

I'd also like to thank Dorothy and the city council for dealing with this property. As one of the first things you see when you're entering the business district from Washington street, it's now a much more pleasant view. And hats off to the folks restoring the old bank building, to those remodeling the old furniture store into a doll museum, and Julie and Patrick for the wonderful expansion of the grocery/pharmacy/gift shop. It's a very exciting time to be living in Howard and seeing all the progress being made!

If it is not too much trouble, it would be nice to see some pictures of the improvements, etc. Some of us don't get back home as often as we would like. And it was nice to see things like when Zimmerman's was beinig rebuilt.
