Miss Jo Ann Heusner, daughter of L. A. Heusner, Emporia, Kansas and Mrs. Dorothy Dicker, Severy, Kansas  became the bride of Melvin Thomas Lanning, aerographers mate second class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lanning, Howard, Kansas, in a ceremony at the home of the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Freeman, at Burlington, Kansas, the evening of October 12, 1956, the Rev. J. L. Noel performed the ceremony.

Guests attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dicker, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Freeman and Dorothy, Donna and Jim Bob Heusner.

The couple will make their home at Glenview, Illinois, where the groom is stationed at the Naval Air station.
