I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my horse.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.

I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest  away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I voted Democrat because I want all the poor and disenfranchised people of the world to come to the U. S. so I can take care of them with your money.

I voted Democrat because I want to try socialism, communism and Muslim fascism before I die.

I hope some of you watch that video. I no more think all republicans are the way they are portrayed in it than all democrats are the way redcliffs post and many other posts portray THEM.
I think this kind of crap is basically a huge waste of time and space. What possible good can come from insulting each other and perpetuating stereotypes?
Does it fix what is wrong with our government? No
Does it make people more moral? No
Does it change the stupid greedy things people do? No

A political party can do none of those things. The party is not the people except for a ridiculous few core people with a pet agenda.
Political parties can not dictate what people do or do not do. There is already a guide in place for that...it is called a conscience.

Do I believe homosexuality is "right" ? To be quite honest if it's between adults I don't give a  S*&%! That's between them and God when they die.
Do I believe abortion is a "right"? No I don't... I figure if you don't want to get pregnant...don't have sex. Again tho it is not MY judgement to make.
Do I believe lazy people are entitled to a living from my sweat? No I don't but I also know that most usually there are innocents like children and old people involved who ARE entitled to a meal and a place to live. I give stuff to homeless people.
Do I want to "experience" communism, socialism and a muslim society? No I don't. Muslims would just have to kill me because I stand BESIDE men who deserve and EARN my respect...I ain't standin BEHIND anybody JUST because he is a man. I am one of those women who learned early on there is only one thing a man can do that I can't and that is get somebody pregnant.
As for communism and socialism... they are just two more failed forms of government that are no more oppressive than government period. It is the nature of the beast to make it's citizens obey it's rules whatever they are and to make it's citizens support IT in the manner to which it would like to become accustomed. All government is oppressive in one way or another.
My membership in the Democratic party does NOT give a rubber stamp to their agendas or policies.....it is more a sign of respect for my father and his father and my husband all of who worked and DO work way more than a 40 hour week at hard labor jobs to support their families and give them what they needed.
This last sentence is all the explanation anybody should need as to why this offends me and why I as a general rule never post any of the derogatory things I have seen about republicans. A party is not a person.
So there ya go, I came back for this  because I wanted to make one more stab at makin a point. A valid point. If yall still don't get it well..........................

I get it and thanks.  Someday I would love to meet you in person.  I love people that can think for themselves.  I so agree that there is nothing wrong with a good hard working person that hasn't gotten thilthy rich in this world.  AND NO, THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM STUPID OR LOOKING FOR A HANDOUT!

And there you go; I have pretty much stopped posting in politics since I had my props knocked from under me last December. But I have been reading them and keep hoping to find something constructive there. It seems to me that most people who are posting there are just not interested in being constructive, just in tearing down. Pam I certainly understand your frustration, you are not alone my dear. This is OUR country; not democrat and not republican, it belongs to Americans. Until we can unite and build together, we are doomed. As Ben Franklin said, "We must hang together or hang seperately!", and that is the only attitude that will save us from certain ruination. Just because somebody votes a certain way does not mean they deserve all the criticism and name calling I have seen here. The video that you posted Pam is ignorant, (I know it is just a point maker Pam), just as the many other postings that call dems clowns, beggars, trash, etc etc adnauseum. The term scumbag should not be used to describe ones' neighbor just because they think a little differently than you. I like the exchange of ideas, not insults. Fire away all, I am listening, and I do welcome you back Pam.  :D :D

Pam, I have to agree with you, especially on one thing.  I am tired of the derogatory things that are being posted.  It doesn't make any difference who or whom it is about.  I am just tired of it.  If something constructive can't be found then why expose the rest of us to it.  If the article doesn't fix anything, I don't want to read it.  I know, I have a choice.  I don't have to read it and I haven't been reading a lot of them.  Still, they are there and some people that read them believe them the way most of us believe the Bible.

Another thing I am disgusted with and it isn't necessarily on this forum.  Our president has been in office for how long now?  Two months?  How in the hedoublehockeysticks can anyone expect him to fix everything that is wrong in two months?  It has taken longer, much longer, than that to get us where we are.  I say, let up on him.  Give the man a chance.  And remember that he isn't doing anything alone.  He has to have the cooperation of a whole lot of people to do anything.  Put the blame where it belongs.

Judy Harder

wilma,

That is the reason I don't come and chat on POLITICS.
I get so tired of the negative slam-dunks that get thrown around
on here.

I too, will  read, just to see what the issue is, but most of the time
I get disgusted and just back out.

I also agree about our president. He is there.........HE has the power that the masses
elected him to do..................now....................LET HIM  DO IT!
There will be a time  in 4 years when we can do it again.........and then you go ahead and politic.

As for me, I chose to give him time and he sure can't do any worse then the presidendents before him,
and if he is not a good president......than we can fix it..........after all didn't we IMPEACH   a couple of them.

Not a happy place for me (Politics) I mean and I really have had enough.

I will go back to my games  and just come in in the morning..........fewer people to make me sad.

God bless us all
Judy
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

I did not vote for the President. As I see it right now, derogatory or not. We are going to h#@ in a hand bag. Since no one is watching the money that was given to the banks and it was not used as the President said it was suppose to be. He wants it back and the people that got it is suppose to give it back or be in trouble.  Just tonight on the news, 11 people from AIG that received their bonus is no longer at AIG and I can bet they are living better then any of us have ever thought about living. And guest what???? they are not going to be found to give the money back as they are in some country were they can never be found. Of course it will be one of the countrys that help get the President elected. ::)
