Doyle W. McClure, 66, lifelong Grenola, Kansas resident, died Nov. 6 at 1013 Millington, Winfield, Kansas where he lived the past two months.

Born March 29, 1924, in rural Grenola, he was the son of Guy Ellsworth and Elsie Wood McClure.  He graduated from the Grenola High School in 1942 and served with the U. S. Army during World War II.

On March 21, 1946, he married Wanda Johnson in Wichita.  He worked as a rancher near Grenola for many years; then as a rural letter carrier, retiring in  1983 following 27 years of service.  He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Winfield, the National Rural Letter Carriers Association, and had been very active in Grenola civic affairs.

He is survived by his wife of the home; his mother, Elsie M. McClure of Moline, Kansas; sister, Doris Stegelman of Winfield. Kansas; and his brother-in-law, Ron Johnson, of Wichita.

Funeral services will be 1:30  p.m. Friday in the Evangelical Free Church with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas.

Memorials have been established with the Evangelical Free Church and with Hospice Inc.  Miles-Wheeler Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
