June Creed, 90, a resident of Mulvane, Kansas, formerly of Fall River, Rose Hill, and Atlanta, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born September 7, 1918 in Lincoln, Kansas, the daughter of Charlie D. and Anna G. (Sellman) Clark.

She was a homemaker and farmer.  She also trained Morgan horses and owned her own kennel and bakery over the years.

She was married to Henry E. House in the 1940s.  They were later divorced.  She was then married to Pete Baumgartel for 39 years.  In 1994, June married Merle Creed.  He preceded her in death in 2000.  June was a cowgirl at heart and loved going to the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Club.  She was a member of several kennel clubs and saddle clubs and attended the Christian Church in the communities where she resided.

June's survivors include:  one son, Herbie House of Douglass, Kansas; two daughters, Peggy J. Williamson of Lyons, Kansas and Donna Nelson of Mulvane, Kansas; one brother, Robert Clark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one sister, Wilhelmina Daugherty of Newton, Kansas; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2009 at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel in Fredonia, Kansas with Chet Price officiating.  Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 9, from 9:00 a.m. until the service time.

A memorial has been established in June's name with the Kansas Humane Society and may be sent to the funeral home.  Family condolences may be left on the Timmons Funeral Home website.  Timmons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 167, Fredonia, Kansas 66736 is in charge of arrangements.

I think June House and her children might have lived in Howard for awhile.  Herbie and Donna went to the Howard Schools.

I remember that they lived in a house in the valley below Cave Springs. Donna was in the same class that I was at Howard. They used to ride the same bus to school. Mr. (Willard?) Simpson was our bus driver. I dont remember the exact years this took place but i think it was around 1964-1965.
