In the obit that I posted on Myra Gove Vancil Hedges, the writer of that obit was a Howard E. Hupp.

Now, these obits that I have been doing do not have anything to tell me what newspaper they came from, but I'm assuming since I got the obits from the Vinettes that it was the Howard Courant.

Does anyone know who Howard E. Hupp is?

I have not come across that name, yet.  But in past experiences, sometimes the person that officiated at the funeral wrote up the obituary.  I will make note of that name, and if I should come across it when I search the old newspapers, I'll try to find out more about him and let you know.

Added Note:  I just finished checking the census records for 1910 and found Howard E. Hupp listed.  He is a farmer, living in Howard township of Elk County, Kansas.  His age given is 43, married, wife is Emma, with about nine children.  In the 1920 census, I find him living in Las Animas Co., Colorado.  He is a farmer, wife is Emma, with a number of children.  So, it still leaves a person guessing as to his relationship with the deceased in that obituary.  It does give a person some idea of the time frame, though, of about when that obit must have been printed.

Yes it does.  It makes me think that Mrs. George Hedges died in 1910 as most of these seem to be around 1910.  I'll put her year of death at 1910 with a question mark.

How Mr. Hupp wrote that article made me think that she was a good friend of his mother's so she was often a mother to him.  Thanks Lois.
