Gerald Eugene "Peanut" Scott, 67, of Longton, Kansas, died August 25, 2006 at Elk Manor Nursing Home in Moline, Kansas.  He was born February 8, 1939 at Denver, Colorado to Robert E. and Grace (Ludlow) Scott.  He moved with his family to Moline Kansas at an early age and graduated from Moline High School in 1956.

On May 28, 1965, he and Kathrine Elizabeth Kisner married in Wichita, Kansas.  The marriage later ended.

A veteran of service in the United State Air Force, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wichita State University.  He was a teacher in Kansas public schools during most of his life.  He was a longtime member of the Moline Alumni Association.

Survivors include a son, Monte Scott of Longton, Kansas; a daughter Gina Nightengale of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; three sisters, Linda Jonasson of North Dakota, Mary Lou Hogan of Independence, Kansas, and Alice Morgan of Wichita, Kansas; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Cremation has taken place.  Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.

Gerald Eugene "Peanut" Scott, 67, of Longton, died Friday (8-25-2006) at the Elk Manor Nursing Home in Moline.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Cremation has taken place.

The funeral arrangements are being made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.

Mr. Scott was born on Feb. 8, 1939 at Denver, Colo., to Robert E. and Grace (Ludlow) Scott.  He moved with his family to Moline at an early age and graduated from Moline High School in 1956.

He served in the United States Air Force and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Wichita State University.

On May 28, 1965, he married Kathrine Elizabeth Kisner at Wichita.  This marriage later ended.

Mr. Scott was a school teacher in Kansas public schools during most of his life.  He was a longtime member of the Moline Alumni Association.

Gerald Eugene "Peanut" Scott passed away on August 25, 2006 at Elk Manor Nursing Home in Moline, Kansas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Moline City Lake in Moline, Kansas.
