Starting today the computers at the Library will be unavailable for use until further notice. They will be cutting the openings into the old building and the computers had to be removed because of the dust. I'll let you know when they become available again.
thanks Kristi

Well they have cut through the wall  to make the opening into the new addition. so right now it's cold and dusty in the Library.
Also thought I'd let you know that Mike Hall has finished the Community Building Kitchen renovation and is now working on the Nurses Office. If you get a chance stop in and see Mike's handiwork he really did a good job on the Kitchen. Thanks Kristi

Last night Dale and I hosted the Senior Citizen monthly card party at the Moline Community Building. Wow, does that kitchen shine. Mike did a great job. Thanks to all who got that accomplished. Lots of compliments given out last night. We had six tables of pitch players. What fun. Come join if you get a chance. Barbara

Sorry to say that the Library is now closed until further notice. Returns can still be done at the drop off box. But we can not even get to most of the shelves to check books out. Hope to reopen as soon as possible but probably won't happen until the glass is in.
Thanks Kristi

The heating ducts are in and the drywall has begun. For those familiar with the design, we had to drop the circulation desk, but we did keep the storage  behind the circulation desk. We just have not raised enough money for the circulation desk and we can always add that later. More important to finish the building. We had to reframe the overhang over the old outside entrance door because of rotting wood and that was an unexpected cost.

Just wondering if there is an update of the library construction status...

"One of the most expensive county-seat wars in terms of time and money lost..." Dr. Homer E Socolofsky, KSU

Sorry so long since last update, but there hasn't been much to report. But we started to make some progress last week. The drywall is done and they installed the door and windows. We've been touring some of the local Libraries to get ideas for the interior. we've been to both grade school libraries, Eureka, Independence, Andover,Longton,Howard. Eureka, Independence, And Andover all have new Libraries. Thanks Kristi

Driving down the street the building looks so nice. Really made it look a bigger, can't wait to see the inside. Thank you guys for taking pride in our community and going places to see what looks good and what works the best. It is exciting to see positive things going on. Thank you very much for the update and keep them coming. Barbara

The contractor says he will be ready to lay carpet in the addition by mid next week, we then have to move everything to the new side and lay the carpet on the old side. But we are getting close and maybe just a couple of weeks off our original contruction schedule. They tell us that it might take a while for the brick layers, but we can be open without the brick on the exterior. Ir's very exciting and you can really tell now what a nice difference it's going to make to our Library. Thanks Kristi

The painting is done. Carpet  layers coming Monday. They delivered the brick yesterday. thanks Kristi
