Howard Courant-Citizen
Thursday, October 26, 1944

Waldo Gray of the United States Navy, who was home on leave, and Miss Neva Jean Bennett were united in marriage  at Emporia, last Wednesday, October 18.  The bride wore a blue suit with brown accessories while the groom wore his Navy uniform.  They were unattended. They spent a few days visiting at their homes in Howard and went to Wichita where they visited until time for Waldo to take his train for the west coast where he will report for duty again with his ship.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bennett of this community and lived most of her life in this vicinity.  She has been employed at Wichita for the past several years.  Waldo is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Gray of Howard and has been in the Navy since soon after completing his high school work and are among our finest young people.  All join in extending congratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Gray.
