Not really a recipe, but this seemed like the best place for this question.

If Kansas were to have a State Dessert, what would it be?

I just got a postcard from someone in Florida with a Key Lime Pie receipe, saying the Pie was the Florida State Pie.

Does Kansas have a famous dessert? Or what would you suggest?

Teresa

hmmmmmm....I don't know.
Sunflower Seed Cookies?
ok ok ok~~ so that wasn't such a great answer.... :-[

New York is cheesecake.. would have to really think to figure out other state's desserts if there is such a thing.
I wonder what Kansas is famous for.

gosh.. what else would it be.. apple pie?

I am famous for my Fried Chicken. ....does that count for anything? lol

I don't know - there have been times the fried chicken I was eating was good enough for dessert.  :D :D :D

Someone else suggested that to me, but when I think of apples and a state, it's usually the State of Washington.  :(

Pecans, maybe? Pecan pie?

I think South Carolina claims Pecan Pie.
I know Georgia has Peach Pie.

Dang it.. we HAVE to be famous for something..

( other than having the only female sheriff all these years)  :police:

Ok. I will tell you what I have found so far..

Kansas is on the record for the state food being "wheat bread".

This is an interesting fact too..
At one time it was against the law to serve ice cream on cherry pie in Kansas.

All dessert is good.  Kansas doesn't need to recognize just one because we just like anything sweet, especially me. ;D ;D :o
