He (Biden) then insisted that despite Obama's declaration that he would spread the wealth around, Obama "is not spreading the wealth around."

Kind of a stupid thing to say while Obama's out there urging supporters to "get in the faces" of Republicans and independents and tell them that he'll lower taxes

"We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people," Biden said in an interview on ABCs "Good Morning America."

Noting that wealthier Americans would indeed pay more, Biden said: "Its time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut."

Here's the thing: Wealth redistribution doesn't work.  Taking wealth from the most successful Americans only removes incentive from achievement, and giving that wealth to less-successful Americans removes the incentive from education and self-improvement.  And by making the rich poorer and the poor richer all we do is create a nation where we're all...equally mediocre


Is that what we want?  Government-enforced mediocrity?
