Howard Schools To Open Monday

HOWARD- The faculty has been completed and the buildings are ready for the opening day of school Monday in the Howard High School and grade school divisions.

The faculty for the grade school:

Mrs. Carolyn Wilnerd, kindergarten and music
Miss Hazel Moore, 1st grade
Mrs. Margaret Gragg, 2nd grade
Miss Agnes Miller, 3rd grade
Mrs. Anne Sloan, 4th grade
Mrs. Elizabeth Parsons, 5th grade
Mrs. Pansey Barnaby, 6th and 7th grades
Mrs. Ruth Wiltfong, 6th grade
Mrs. Frances Perkins, 7th grade
Mitchell Combs, 8th grade

In the high school division:

Miss Mary Anderson, science

Mr Newby was so handsome. I remember when he came into the school the first day.
Wow.. we were used to having "stuffy" teachers and he was just sooooo... wellll goodlooking.  ;)
He had all of us girls giggling and talking. He was kind of like the Don Johnson of Howard High School.. hahaha

I am not familiar with most of the high school teachers that are listed,  as I had already graduated before then, and wasn't living around Howard at the time.

Some say that when a person starts to reminisce that is a sign of old age!!! :laugh: :laugh: I guess I must have been an old battle ax for several years!!! :laugh: :laugh:
