Eunice J. Beasley, age 88 of Sedan, Kansas,  passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas.  She was born October 10, 1920 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Robert Smith and Lillie Elizabeth (Williams) Taylor.  She attended school in Waurika, Oklahoma.  She married Lloyd Beasley on March 11, 1935 in Loco, Oklahoma.  She worked as a chef for many years and later worked as a homemaker.

She lived most of her life in Sedan, Kansas.  She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sedan.  She enjoyed making jelly, crocheting, fishing, and most of all she liked to have fun.  She was well known for her recipes for the wonderful jams and jellies made at the Chautauqua Hills Jelly Company.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Beasley of the home in Sedan, Kansas; two daughters, Wanda Sherrod of Moline, Kansas and Judy McCasland of Midland, Texas; two sons, Kenneth Beasley of Longton, Kansas and Jim Beasley of Sedan, Kansas; one sister Ella Sutherland of Loco, Oklahoma; twenty five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, one son Warren Beasley, and one grandchild.

Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas with Rev. Paul Stetz officiating.

The family has suggested memorial contributions to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas  67361.
