My granddaughter wrote this about her  Great Great Great Great Grandfather for her 9th Grade Heritage Fair.
Was my second Great Maternal Grandfather.  (You noticed, Diane.  I did throw in one too many Greats.)  Changed it.  Thanks.

FREEMAN GRANT CARY

This is a man with wit and grace,
Intelligence and strength , framed his face.

A man with a knowledge of science and farming.
His friends all knew him as kind and charming.

His beliefs ran deep into his soul,
Prohibition and abolition were his goals.

His love of education was grand.
He founded a Farmer's College in his land.

He gave back twice as much as he received,
Never give Up! He always believed.

His family was his joy in life,
Eight children and a loving wife.

He believed in writing down his words.
Kept them in journals, to later be heard.

When his soul did retire,
He left a legacy to admire.

"Perhaps they are not the stars in the sky.
But rather openings where our loved ones,
Shine down to let us know they are happy."

Nicely done. Your family must have been here for a very long time, or had their kids early to have had that many "greats."
