I will move this to the correct board.. but for now.. I believe this is one that belongs in the main section for awhile.. for all to see..

I can't tell you in any words what this did to my heart. I cried the whole time I watched it and once again..as I do each day.. I give humble thanks to my God, for all things.

One day the son asked his father, "Dad" can you enter a race with me?
The father with health problems says, "yes"
They went on to race together.
Then they went on to complete a marathon together, and then the son entered more marathons and the father always agreed.
The son then asked the father to complete an Ironman, and again the father agreed.

For those who are not aware the Ironman contest consists of a triathlon (3 events) without stopping.
This is an endurance race that starts off with swimming at sea for 2.4 miles (3.86Km.) then onto a bike race of 112 miles (180.2 Km.) and when completed a foot race of 26.23 miles (42,195Km.) along the shores of Big Island.

The Father (and son) completed this Ironman together.

Incredible video about the relationship between a father and son.... and God's relationship with us.

Such a wonderful love for his son!  It's awesome to think that this is just a tiny example of Gods love for us.  I just stand in
amazement!
Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

Just when you think the world is goin dark somebody turns on a light............................................
Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained him through temporary periods of joy.

I have seen these two men on Oprah.  They both are amazing!!  To me this father defines what parental unconditional love and support is.  A simply request from a son to a father.  In this case a son voicing a dream and the father unconditionally making that dream a reality.  Just think what the world would be like if everyone lived by those principles.

My father's arms are strong and sure as they persistently carry me on
To the destiny that awaits me just beyond this day's dawn.
He pushes me beyond my own endurance, oblivious to my pain,
Or so I think...until I watch him grimace under the considerable strain.
It is then that I realize the price he's paid for me,
In order to assure that I am given every possiblity.
This is the man with whom I have argued passionately,
So sure that he is incapable of ever understanding 'me'...
Yet, it is he who has never given up, never accepted less,
When I am the one ready to cave in under all the heavy stress.
How can I ever repay this man for all his sacrifice?
How do you ever repay a duty that occupied an entire life?
My father...my champion...my hero.

Dedicated to my father...whose strong shoulders have carried me always...and still do.
