Ruth Frances (Foster) Mitchem, 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at her home in Topeka, Kansas.  She was born on February 15, 1924 to Irby Joel and Silvia (Reeves) Foster in Longton, Kansas.  She was a graduate of Pittsburg State Univesity and an elementary school teacher in the Longton, Independence, and Kansas City School Districts for over 30 years.

She married Carl Aaron Mitchem on July 11, 1944.  He survives.  Other survivors include: daughters, Allida (Richrd) Branton of Columbia, Missouri and Marla (Arthur) Biggs of Topeka, Kansas; granddaughters, Deborah (Kermit) Sanders and Christy (Jack) Stegman; and three great-grandchldren, Graham, Jessica, and Dakota.
