Why if half the Senators for the state of Kansas and one of our House of Representatives members are going to be in town on the same day accross the street  is it being kept a secret.  I know they are coming to two very different venues but their mission is the same.  Come to Howard to get issues from their constituants.  Let't get out there and be heard and especially be seen.

They will come agree with all our problems.  Promise to do something.  But would appreciate your vote next election.

I would hope more people show up for these events than showed up to voice about the demolition of local buildings.

In this electronic age knowledge is easy to get.  But we have to talk one on one to change direction of policy.

Just a thought.

uhmm when is this event supposed to happen. I got about two or three issues i would like to discuss with these guys.
Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

Senator Roberts will be at the Howard Senior Center at 1:45 pm Monday.

If you are a Elk county Farm Bureau Member or guest Rep. Jerry Moran will be speaking at the cox building meeting/dinner starts at 6:30.

Again,,,  >:( worthless apathy......This describes the entire populas of elk county.   The was maybe 25 people at the Senior center to meet Senator Roberts.    He is our senator.....Why doesn't any one give a crap..... You same people probably don't vote either.

Squeeky wheels get the grease.

If the idiots in Washington don't hear from us then they don't change anything for us.   In an election year you at least get your 15 minutes.

Why was there no one there.

One teenager was there....A small glimmer of hope......He was there to apply to the air force academy.......which is very noble and I wish him well but the senator must have been a navy or marine supporter.  I don't know his service record.

Please give me a sign I am not alone.

Yeah every 40 years or so someone must step up.

Thanks, PEP, for the Farm Bureau plug. We did have about 70 members and guests at our annual meeting tonight. Last year's attendance was less than 50. I'm hopeful that the extra 20 this year means people were interested in hearing from and visiting with Mr. Moran. OK, so there was free food, too...and door prizes....LOL....but seriously, I was pleased with the turnout, and appreciate all who spent the evening with us.

If you want to know what grade the National Taxpayers Union gave to all the Representatives and the Senators.  Go to www.NTU.org and check it out.  You will be surprised.

Sorry PEP, I had to work yesterday. I wanted to be there. I had a list of questions. None of which he would of liked being asked.

I went to the school board meeting last night. Didn't attend FB meeting (would have been there as a guest).

I do have one question - why is Moran here and not Tihart?  I am sure Moran is a bigger supporter of our issues but Tihart is our rep.

That's easy, Doc. Farm Bureau invited Moran to speak and he accepted. He's actually speaking at several FB annual meetings in the weeks ahead.

He (Moran) actually seems more concern with our issues then his.  How did he get into politics?

I think that name droping in a small town should be grounds for a $1000 donation to Elk Konnected.  Did any one ask for support of our gas roots organization?

I bet we get a lovely form letter response.

But make sure your taxes are paid by the 15th of April.
