SEVERY - Irwin V. Johnson, 78, retired Beech Aircraft employee, died August 8, 2008.  Service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Severy United Methodist Church with graveside services to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Greely Township Cemetery, Mount Hope, Kansas.  Arrangements by Zimmeman Funeral Home, Howard, Kansas.

Irwin Virgil Johnson, 78, formerly of Severy, Kansas, died August 8, 2008 at the Park West Plaza in Wichita.  Mr. Johnson was born on January 2, 1930 at Mount Hope, Kansas to Scott William and Dollie May (Lambert) Johnson.  He attended school and lived his early years in Mount Hope before serving in the United States Marine Corps.

On June 3, 1951, he married Phyllis Ann Roser, and to this union were born a son, Jeffery, and two daughters, Susan and Julie.  The marriage later ended.

Irwin was employed most of his life as a contract administrator for Beech Aircraft Co. in Wichita, Kansas. 

On June 20, 2004, he married Virginia C. (Peterson) Ronsick in Severy, Kansas, and they made their home on a farm south of town.  Virginia died on April 30, 2008.

He is survived by his son, Jeffery Johnson of Wichita, Kansas; his daughters, Susan Linsley of Powdersville, South Carolina and Julie Bailey of Wichita, Kansas; his stepdaughters, Denise Landau of Wichita, Kansas and Diane Padalinski of Aurora, Colorado; his brother, Garland Johnson of Hutchinson, Kansas; his sister, Thorene Roberts of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Severy United Methodist Church.  Pastor Charles Cryderman officiated.  Burial was at 3:00 p.m. at Greeley Township Cemetery in Mount Hope, Kansas.  A memorial has been established with the Severy United Methodist Church.  Contributions may be left with Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard, Kansas.
