SEDAN - Morton, Patricia Lee "Pat," 80, died March 11, 2008. Service 2 p.m. Friday, First United Methodist Church. Survivors: husband, Clarence "Ed"; son, Mark; grandson, Mason Ware. David W. Barnes Funeral Home.

Some of you may remember that her husband and his brother had the John Deere Dealership in Sedan.  Their Dad, Arthur Morton, had the International Harvester Dealership in Severy.

Patricia Lee "Pat" Morton, age 80, of Sedan, Kansas, passed away March 11, 2008 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  She was born March 15, 1927 in Eureka, Kansas to Francis "Virgil" and Inez (Haney) Pennington.  She attended and graduated from Eureka High School in 1945.  She married Clarence Edwin "Ed" Morton on August 4, 1946 in Eureka, Kansas.  They lived in Severy, Kansas until moving to Sedan, Kansas in 1948.

She was the secretary at Eureka Motors and County Engineers. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sedan, Methodist Women, the Sedan Chamber of Commerce, and was active with the Chautauqua Jelly Company in years past.  She was the treasurer for the First United Methodist Church, was a choir member, and belonged to the Jayhawkers Sam's Camping Club.  She was also a housewife, taking care of her family, and was a very loving mother. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Morton; and one grandson, Ben Ware.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Morton of the home in Sedan, Kansas; one son, Mark Lee Morton of Elgin, Kansas; one grandson and wife, Mason and Chana Ware of El Reno, Oklahoma;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held on March 14, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Sedan, Kansas with Rev. Jerry Bever officiating.  Inurnment followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group and may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas  67361.
