If you aren't familiar with the story of John McCain's capture and torture by the North Vietnamese, I highly recommend this article at US News, a reprint of McCain's first-person account originally published in 1973: John McCain, Prisoner of War: A First-Person Account - US News and World Report. http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/2008/01/28/john-mccain-prisoner-of-war-a-first-person-account.html?PageNr=1

I was aware of what happened to McCain but not all the details, and have gained an enormous respect for him after reading this article.

Ok, so he's a tough cookie...how does that make him a good president? Remember please, I'm a still undecided Independent so don't bite me!

I wouldn't bite you, Diane.... you are much too sweet a person for that.  I reserve that for the 'hard-nose socialist' types.  As per your question,  I guess we'll find out when or if John-Boy's elected.  Here is a couple of sites that might help you decide:

Thank you. I found those two sites extremely helpful and recommend every one read them. Some of our forum Republicans are more Libertarian than they think they are. ;)
