JoElla Ann (Parsons) Hess, 65, of Hays, Kansas died June 10, 2008 at her home in rural Ellis County, Kansas.  She was born July 14, 1942 in El Dorado, Kansas to Russell and Elizabeth (Henn) Parsons. 

She married Everett Lawrence Hess on June 13, 1964 in Moline, Kansas.  He preceded her in death  February 21, 1990.  She was a homemaker and resident of Hays since 1997.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Hays.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Parsons, and her husand, Everett L. Hess.

Survivors include:  two sons, Mark Hess and wife Kayla of Allen Texas, and Daniel Hess and wife Lisa of Hays, Kansas; two daughters, Dr. Katrina Hess and husband Dr. Kendall Krug of Hays, Kansas, and Suzanne Hess and husband Rick Armstrong of Sitka, Alaska; her mother, Elizabeth Parsons of Howard, Kansas; three brothers, Jim Parsons and wife Mary of Topeka, Kansas, John Parsons and wife Liz of Wichita, Kansas, and Jerome Parsons and wife Kim of Wichita, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Riley Hess, Russell Krug, Andrew Hess, Sydney Hess, Laura Krug, Julia Hess, Elizabeth Hess, Matthew Hess, and Benjamin Armstrong.

Services were held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays, Kansas with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Elementary School, Thomas More Prep-Marian High School, or Masses in care of Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS  67601.
