Obama is not a muslim, period. Barack Obama is a Christian man who is raising a family in a Christian manner. Why are you afraid of a United States Senator? A man who has sworn to uphold the constitution of the United States? I have known Muslim Men. I have known Muslim women. I have known Bhuddist men, and I have known Bhuddist women. The scariest people that I have known are people who claim to be Christian and trash everyone else simply because of religion, color or country of origin. Unless we are Native American, we are interlopers on this continent. We are blessed to have our society and blessed to have our process to elect our leaders, but race, religion or creed have nothing to do with it. God bless America!

Shouldn't we be judging Obama by what he is and not by what his relatives are?  After all, we can't choose our relatives.  If we could I would be the only child of Bill Gates.  We can choose our associates and Obama has discarded some of his associates for the extremist things they have said and continue saying.  This is not saying that I am voting for Obama, just that I believe nothing that I hear and only half of what I see.

Catwoman, you can stay on your soap box as long as you like.  I like your way of thinking and you can certainly present it in a way that can be understood.

Catwoman

Wilma, I have always told my parents that I have taught for (over these many years!) that I will believe 15% of what their children tell me at school if they will believe 15% of what their child tells them at home.  I usually get a stunned look and then a giggle as they agree to do so.  And, no, I'm off of my soapbox...at least for now, right? (lol)

Catwoman, your soapbox sounds like a winner to me lol

Wilma, you are so right! Issues have hardly been touched at all in this forum, just rumors, namecalling and out and out lies. I cannot believe so many are 'against' and are not 'for' anything. I have challenged many times for someone to please please say who they are 'for', and this place remains silent as a tomb. And catwoman, I agree that your writing is superb, and thank you for posting.

sisdogsmom, I beg to differ with you.  I, among others, have stated very plainly their standing on this election.  Want to know who I'm for, okay I'll tell you.  NEITHER OF THEM
MY GOAL IS TO LIVE FOREVER. SO FAR, SO GOOD !

Flo, would you make that a little plainer.

Lol Sixdog, I'm against Obama because he doesn't have the experience to deal realistically with a war like the one we are in. I'm for Obama because he is a change from the present status quo.
I'm for McCain because he DOES have the experience to deal with this was in a realistic fashion, I'm against McCain because he is just four more years of the same thing.
Other than that I can't tell you what I'm gonna do on votin day because I probly won't know till I walk in the booth!
Besides that, I don't listen to what they say about what they "are going to do" when they are elected because most of it is BS lol
Obama is a great speechifier, McCain is kinda wobbly on that. Obama is very charismatic, McCain kinda comes off as a goober sometimes. Obama doesn't have the solidness that McCain appears to have. Just bein a good talker doesn't mean he'll make a good president tho. Snakeoil salesmen are good talkers too.
Just havin the solid appearance of your grandpa doesn't mean McCain will make a good president either. You have to have a little bit of snakeoil salesman in ya to get anywhere in politics.
Obama seems kind of condescending at times.
Obama seems idealistic, but idealism gets popped pretty quick when you are dealin with the "real" world.
Obama can get people fired up but that doesn't win wars or save lives or deal with rogue countries.
McCain has been there done that but that doesn't mean he can do it again. We lost his war.
McCain just plods along like an old workhorse but that don't mean he can pull the plow so to speak.
Anyway that's where I am in MY thinkin, what about the rest of ya?

I would like to express my feelings on OBAMA but I already to tried to ask SDM a  question on him, that I was truly interested in her answer and did not want to make her mad with. The results were very disappointing and if I said what I think of OBAMA and his liberal, Far left Socialistic ideas and values she would be even madder so I will just say nothing.
