Teresa, that is awesome. My son had an old German Shorthair Pointer and my Grandson grew up with him. My grandson would lay down by the dog and go to sleep and the dog wouldn't move as long as Nathan was laying there. I have no doubt that the dog in this one would die for this little boy. That was true love.

And that isn't any easy task to get a cat to do anything! LOL

We  got a german shepard when she was 6 weeks old..
My David was 18 months and my older ones were  Robyn 3 and Bobby  4.
Niki grew up with my kids and was just the best dog with them.

.......she would sleep on Robyns bed
at night and be with the boys and Robyn when they were outside and I never
worried that the kids would be in trouble when she was around.

Had her for 13 years and when she died we had lot of sad people.  She left  a son and
altho I am leary around big dogs like these now......it was a great life when Niki and Taco was
part of my life.

I would do it again......raise kids with dogs I mean............they each benefit.

Now for cats, I know they can be trained, but found that they trained me faster than I trained them.
Love animals.......better than humans.
