When things go wrong
as they sometimes will,
when the road you're trudging
seems all up hill
when the funds are low
and the debts are high
and you want to smile,
but you have to sigh
When care is
pressing you down a bit,
rest if you must but don't you quit
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
as everyone of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
when he might have won
had he stuck it out;
Don't give up
though the pace seems slow
-you may succeed
with another blow
Success is failure turned inside out-
the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell
how close you are,
it may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
it's when things seem worst
that you must not quit
.

I posted a poem "HUGS" that has been on my refrigerator for so many years.  I was looking through archives and find that on May 6 of 2006 Janet posted " Don't Quit " - That is the other poem on my refrigerator. Both are very yellowed, really brown, and brittle.   I cut it out of the Home Town News that was in the Wichita Eagle many many many years ago.  Great seeing that someone else liked it also.
MY GOAL IS TO LIVE FOREVER. SO FAR, SO GOOD !

I don't remember where I got it, but something funny about this poem is that when we were moving Mother's #1 daughter, she had this same poem in a frame.  That poem hangs in my office at the prison.
