Instead of Soap Box Day

I was thinking about a soap box subject, but decided that there had been enough discussion and opinions this week, so instead of--I want to ask a question.

What do you know about the Tower of Babel?  It seems to me that this week's discussions are the results of what happened at the Tower of Babel.  That it was God's decision that we all be different and able to think for ourselves.  What do you think?  Incidentally, the Tower of Babel is in Genesis 11.  I had to look it up.
