A description of a Veteran:

What Is A Veteran?
"Veteran" -- whether active duty, discharged,
retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point
in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The
United States of America," for an amount of "up to,
and including his life."

That is honor, and there are way too many people in
this country today, who no longer understand that fact.
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

GIs in the Vietnam era would often joke that the tour of duty in Vietnam was one year or the rest of your life--whichever came first.
"If one of the many corrupt...county-seat contests must be taken by way of illustration, the choice of Howard County, Kansas, is ideal." Dr. Everett Dick, The Sod-House Frontier, 1854-1890.
"One of the most expensive county-seat wars in terms of time and money lost..." Dr. Homer E Socolofsky, KSU
