Word Definitions

Has anyone actually given any thought to the use of these words that are used daily by so many people, without knowing just what they are saying?  If you will look them up in the dictionary, you will find a number of these words are euphemisms.

confounded----damned -a mild oath

darn--damn for a curse

doggone---damn or darn

golly---God

gee--short for Jesus

gosh--form of God used as a mild oath

heck--hell

my goodness---exclamation for my God

goodness knows-----short for God only knows
