Matt Dennis is the Chief of Police of Cherryvale, Kansas.  This would be the same Matt Dennis that started the Bigfoot website that you found.

The Denver Post this morning ran an article about Harry R. Truman.

He was the old 83 year old man that refused to leave his lodge and lake on Mount Saint Helens in 1980.

Both are now buried under 80 feet of volcanic ash.

Before he disappeared, he told an individual that his place was frequented by Big Foot to such an extent his wife refused going outside at night. (I thought he was living by himself in 1980 but this could have been sometime before)

Said his barn had scratches at the ten-foot level where he had tried to get in and he could tell when Big Foot was around by the smell in the air.

I never heard of a Delaware big foot, except perhaps after someone quaffed a few too many drinks at the beach's Rusty Rudder or the Bottle and Cork. Then there may be Hobbits and Mermaids too.
We have the "Jersey Devil" that roams the New Jersey Pine Barrens, Delaware and south eastern Pennsylvania.

The Jersey Devil goes back to the 1700s. The devil was supposed to be the 13th child of a New Jersey lady who was sick of having children and cursed the 13th saying, "may it be the devil himself." It was born terribly deformed. Now it becomes fantasy. The child killed most of the rest of the family (ate their heads) and ran up the chimney and disappeared out into the Pine Barrens to wreak havoc on the locals. It is a furry dragonish looking beast with long leathery wings, a long neck and a horse looking head ( some say it looks more like a ram and has horns.) It has short front arms, longer back legs and cow's hooves. It's anywhere between 3 and 8 feet tall, flies well and screams. There have been many sightings over the years with lots of explanations as to what it is. Mostly I think it's a good story to keep kids from getting lost in the Pine Barrens or the "Devil'll get 'em."

Jodi, was it the Inkspots. I remember them playing at Howard a couple of times. They were good to dance to. The best ones I remember at Howard, were Johnnie Lee Wills, Hank Thompson, Leon McCauliffe, Rodney Lay,  a local favorite was Bill Parker. I danced many a mile in the old Howard Fairgrounds Pavillion.

The New Jersey National Hockey Team, which may be in Newark, is named the Jersey Devils.

Prior to being the Devils they were the Colorado Rockies and prior to that were the Kansas City Scouts.

If there is a street intersection of third avenue and third street, does someone back there say they are at thoid and thoid?

I think we just drove the spelling police crazy.
