The First National Bank of Howard is now in their new home.  During last week end the bookkeeping machines, mechanical equipment, monies on hand, and all bank records and property, were moved directly across the street east, where on Monday morning they opened for business at the usual hour in completely new surroundings, furnishings, and with plenty of room for all departments of the bank, a large new modern vault with a safety box department, and other new conveniences for the force and the customers.

Several months ago the First National Bank purchased the west part of the Bryan Motor Company building, on the lots formerly occupied by the Metropolitan Hotel, which had been a land mark up to the time it was removed for the Bryan building.  During that time a large force of contractors had been busy remodeling the large room, building a large vault and installing the very latest in lighting, heating and cooling equipment throughout the room.  No expense was spared in making the new home convenient, comfortable and handsome.  The result is completely satisfying to the bank personnel, stockholders and directors, as well as the public at large.   Without doubt the First National has one of the handsomest and most complete banking home in the mid-west.

Great care and good judgement was used in the choice of materials, colors and arrangements of the room and all who had a part in the plans, work and supervision are to be commended.

The officers of the bank are: W. L. Morss, active president; E. B. Henry, vice-president; G. D. Miller, cashier; directors, W. L. Morss, G.D. Miller, T. Russel McKinney, R. B. Sloan, and E. B. Henry; bookkeepers, Mrs. Louise Morgan, Mrs. Neva Nigh, and Mrs. Norma Salisbury.

The First National Bank has always been one of the strong banks of southeast Kansas, and under the leadership of W. L Morss has been making a steady growth, serving their customers from far and near with courtesy and satisfaction, and making increases on the reserves in every department.

The public wish many, many more years of success to the First National and its shareholders for many years to come, and all are happy to see them have such a convenient and comfortable home to carry on their work.
