As "green" as California is, I imagine they have figured out some way to compost the vegetation, and I would imagine that would sure enough be a "dirty job!"  It's sort of like, we forget that "what goes up, must come down!"

It was interesting that the year we went was the year Nebraska played in the Rose Bowl game.  We have friends, originally from Longton, Kenton and Marcia Baughman, who live in Nebraska and flew out for the game.  They were also viewing the floats the day we were, and they saw us, and said "We know you!"  What a pleasant surprise that was!  There were thousands of people moving around viewing the floats, so that was a bonus for us!  "It's a small world, after all!"

My mom amd her friend used to 'watch' the Rose Parade together over the telephone. Both lived alone, and found that unique way to enjoy the parade without having to go out. I thought that was pretty neat!
