I wanted a 24 inch rope of black pearls.  Of course, I always want this and never get it.

Christmas Day surrounded by ALL OF OUR FAMILY    But we did get calls of love from  all of them and it was enough for now.
IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER....
THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!

My children home for Christmas--but one is on a ship somewhere out on the ocean--next one lives in AZ and had to work yesterday--last one had to spend the day with her in-laws this year :(  Oh well maybe next year :)

Well, I feel very fortunate that I got most everything on my list (it was short, though).  We went to my parents' in Atwood (NW KS) for the entire weekend and came home on Christmas night.  All 4 of us kids (and our spouses/kids) were able to be there, and we had a great time.  We all went together and got my folks a box of rocks.  Well, actually it will turn into a semi-load of gravel for their driveway, whenever the roads get good enough for the semi to make it out there.  My sister always does a good job of writing cute poems, so we gave them the poem and the box of rocks.  They had to read the poem all the way through before they finally realized what they were getting.  We left on Christmas in snow/ice flurries, but ran out of it around Hays and then saw stars the rest of the way home.  Bad timing on leaving, though, as we went through Salina around 8:00 pm (hungry)... and NOTHING was open.  But I was glad to see that everyone got off on Christmas, so we just had to get some chips and crackers from the gas station.  But we did find an open Sonic in El Dorado, though.  We tipped a little extra.
Glad to hear everyone had a good Christmas!

Christmas with my children and grandchildren will be this Saturday.  So far I have only received one thing that needs dusting and I love it.  It is a "friendship" angel from a very good friend.  I collect angels, you know.  My other collection is coffee mugs of which I have well over 150. Another friend gave me a Thomas Kincaid mug for Christmas this year.   I will get exactly what I want for Christmas, provided mother nature doesn't get irrate and spoil it.  That is to have all three of my daughters here with me.  Will have all but two grandchildren and two of my great-grandchildren here.  Having it other than Christmas day, the two oldest grandson's (only grandsons) both have to work.  But Christmas day they were with their inlaws, so I have to compromise somewhere.  Just now making my goodies and such, so better get back at it.
MY GOAL IS TO LIVE FOREVER. SO FAR, SO GOOD !

We have our Christmas planned this weekend also.  A big family dinner at my folks on Saturday, then the smaller Christmas celebration here with just our kids after that.  It's a challenge finding a time around inlaws plans and work schedules, but I know we have it pretty easy compared to some.  Besides, to me it doesn't matter what date it is on ~ for me the best part is being surrounded by the people you love.

I'll have to post later to tell you whether I get the bicycle on my list... I want an old fashioned one with brakes on the pedals; and maybe a basket that I can carry Squirt around in like Dorothy Gale.  HA!

I wanted or nothing and recieved some lovely gifts.  The best part of it all was I got to spend time with family and friends.  My pig I got in the freezer was a real treat.  And the marshmallow guns were a real hit.  All the women loved their glass blocks.  The best part was I'm done with peanut brittle til next year.  I ended up making 138 lbs.  For those of you that are getting ready to have your Christmas, I hope yours is as wonderful as mine was.

All I wanted for Christmas was to have my family gathered around me like an old mother hen with her chicks.
And I got it!  ;D
The Oldest Mother Hen and Rooster was in Texas, but we had them with us in spirit when we opened up all the gag gifts that they had sent to us. Ye gads.. I got the ugliest old silver pillow that has been passed around between Mother and Aunt Rosalie and Aunt Barbara for 10  years..and it had disappeared about 8 years ago.. Lo and behold, my mother found it when they were getting ready for Uncle Russell's sale.  It Had been in a bunch of  Aunt Barbara's stuff she had before she died..she was the last one to get it I guess.
It is a hateful looking thing.. ( but now I have it and who knows who will get it next year..
I think my sister got the dreaded black poodle and mama said that the baby one that was the only one left out of the 4 she had with her, was gone.. so guess it is broken and only the mother is left..( Pity)  NOT!

They also gave each one of us a gift certificate to eat at The Swinging Bridge Cafe..

We had a wonderful Christmas.. We had tons of finger foods and then we played 2 tables of cards. Kjell and Rochelle needed to practice playing 10 point pitch, ( we're having a card party for NYEve) so Danny and Derek played that game with them and Sandy wanted to play pinochle , so Teri, Mark and I played with her at that game. *We are a card playing fools*
Then we played other games and had a great time.

FAMILY! It just don't get better than that. :)
