Whoever invented cookies should have gotten one heck of a prize, too. Not to mention the person who figured out pies and cakes, and for that matter, the oven. They were culinary heros, now forgotten to time. We know who the first king of the Anglo-Saxons was. Why don't we know who baked the first cookie? I mean, cookies are certainly more important!

I had a friend in California that went to Cal Berkeley with the guy that founded Otis Spunkmeyers cookies. His daughter made up that name at the kitchen table one night. So i'm sure it wasn't him, either.
