I, also, have voted in every election since I was "old enough to vote."  My candidates have "won a few, lost a few."  I'm very adamant about my belief's, but I don't expect others to be as conservative or as "straight laced" as I am.  I heard somewhere that probably very few of my generation's grandchildren would vote the same as we do.  Many things are more acceptable to them, than they are to us.  It does seem, though, that the older we become, the more conservative our belief's become.  So, I try to not argue politics or religion.  I love to discuss issues, and, of course, the majority of our "old codger" friends tend to have the same conservative belief's as we do.

I watch politics very closely.  I thought the debate last night was "so-so."  One of the guys just shouldn't of been in that debate, I thought.  I liked what the Arkansas Governor had to say, but I imagine his chances of being "up there" are slim to none.  I thought that Fred Thompson may have erred by choosing to not be there, but, "what do I know!"

I will tell you what makes me proud -- first of all it is young Americans like our Grandson Dan that takes an interest and is proud to do so.  When I see the candidates on TV and their appearances in all the states wooing the voters, I see  many, many YOUNG voters that are attending these rallies.  We need that and we must have that for their dreams to come true.  So that tells me THEY ARE concerned about our country and the issues that confront them.
We desperately need leaders that are genuine in their beliefs and they dedication to our great country, and the welfare of OUR PEOPLE,  but also with compassion for the needs and welfare of others.  But our country and our needs  MUST COME FIRST and with that accomplished, then we will  be more able to help others.  But without our own people being strong and well cared for and cared about -- we have a terribly high hill to climb..and hopefully we will be strong enough to prevail.
Fred and I vote at every election and have since we were entitled to.  It is important - and as Bonnie said.. "Sometimes I win and sometimes I loose" , but by golly I make sure I vote.
God Bless our Country and God Bless and guide our leaders.

Frank.. have Myrna sign on with her own account. That way you can both vote and also have separate posting rights etc..
Since you are signing in with the same ID and password, then the software is set up to read that as one vote.

There is a glitch however.. and that is ..if you both use the same e-mail address, then she won't be able to set up an acct. for herself.
If she does have another e-mail account that she can use ( if nothing more than to set up her acct) then it is easy to do..
Otherwise it is kind of a hassle because of the e-mail thing.

((Hey~~ we don't make the software.. we just install it)))

Contrary to some beliefs, every vote does count and can make a difference. When our enemies see a low voter turnout and hear people say it doesn't do any good to vote they use that as propaganda to say democracy is not working.

"It will also achieve your desire to stop the war as a consequence, because as soon as the warmongering owners of the major corporations realize that you have lost confidence in your democratic system and have begun to look for an alternative, and this alternative is Islam, they will run after you to please you and achieve what you want to steer you away from Islam,"

Exchange Student

There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some Exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Prof noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back And stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back.  He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, ' Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke.'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming.  When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in The last side.  The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught.  Soon they go back to eating the free corn.  They are so used to it that they have forgotten how To forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor  that is exactly what he sees happening to America.  The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms- just a little at a time.

One should always remember 'There is no such thing as a free Lunch!  Also, 'You can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

Also, if you  see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America,  you might want to send this on to your friends.  If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email,  but God help you when the gate slams shut!
