How was my day?????  It was a lot brighter after I read this e mail that I received this morning.

Angels as told by kids . . .

I only know the names of two angels. Hark and Harold.
       Gregory, 5

Everybody's got it all wrong. Angels don't wear halos anymore.
I forget why, but scientists are working on it.
       Olive, 9

It's not easy to become an angel! First, you die. Then you go to heaven, then there's still the flight
Training to go through. And then you got to agree to wear those angel clothes.
       Matthew, 9

Angels work for God and watch over kids when God has to go do something else.
       Mitchell, 7

My guardian angel helps me with math, but he's not much good for science.
       Henry, 8

Angels don't eat, but they drink milk from holy cows.
       Jack, 6

Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The basic message is
Where you went wrong before you got dead.
       Daniel, 9

When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath and counts to ten.
And when he lets out his breath, somewhere there's a tornado.
       Reagan, 10

Angels have a lot to do and they keep very busy. If you lose a tooth, an angel
Comes in through your window and leaves money under your pillow.
Then when it gets cold, angels go north for the winter.
       Sara, 6

Angels live in cloud houses made by God and his son, who's a very good carpenter.
       Jared , 8

All angels are girls because they gotta wear dresses and boys didn't go for it.
       Antonio, 9

My angel is my grandma who died last year. She got a big head start on helping me
While she was still down here on earth.
       Katelynn, 9

Some of the angels are in charge of helping heal sick animals and pets.
And if they don't make the animals get better, they help the kid get over it.
       Vicki, 8

What I don't get about angels is why, when someone is in love, they shoot arrows at them.
       Sarah, 7

UH-OH!

I reckon we need to move the forum round-up to High Noon.

That's ok, I'll distract you with some good crab cakes, flip on my invisibility cape and step sideways. Then I'll pray I don't step on my cape and shoot myself in the foot with my .38! ;D

I loved the video.  Thank you for sharing it.

I really enjoyed the angel stories.

Good morning! I had a fine day yesterday.  My dad is a mechanic and I took the pickup to him in Eureka because of a bad water leak; looks like we need a new radiator.  That's okay though, my dad has been fighting a dozen different computer problems on vehicles in the shop for a couple weeks, and he was glad to have one he could diagnose the old fashioned way.  Ha!  Anyhow, I borrowed my sister's car for a few days and will go back up to get it when the parts show up & he gets them installed.  But I got to visit, and go out to lunch with my parents & sister, so it was  a nice day.

I think I'll see if I can get in to the doctor today. I have bug bites or a rash or something low on my shoulderblade that just doesn't seem to be getting better.  My mom, sister & Marty all agree it's not a spider bite (I was a little paranoid), but it's very sore and a little itchy, and now that whole area is tender like a pulled muscle.  I'm thinking it might be shingles ~ I've never had them before, but our son Chris did when he was about 9, and it looks a little the same ~ what I can see of it backwards in a mirror looking over my shoulder. Ha!

I've been slacking off on scraping the house.  Since I didn't like the first color I chose, it's hard to get excited about it again.  Maybe I'll go get some paint chips and spend some time day-dreaming of what it would look like different colors.  Sounds a little lazy ~ just the thing for a muggy-hot September day.  I told Marty I'd get 5 or 6 other colors and test paint sections of the garage so it will end up looking like a gypsy wagon.  No reaction.  He does that when he doesn't know if I'm kidding about something or serious...  It's good to keep him guessing.  ;)

Joanna -

If you have shingles - soooo sorry!!  :(
I've had them off and on for 30+ years - they are painful!!

As far as your house color goes -

Jim and I are convinced that if you wait, the right colors will come to you.
It took us awhile to come up with our colors, but as soon as we did, we knew they were the right ones.
so . . . patience.  ;)

And, once you get the right colors, the mood to scrape will return.
It all fits together.

Wilma

Joanna, I sincerely hope that you do not have shingles.  First daughter had them the first part of this year and she is still bothered with the pain of them sometimes.

As for your house colors, this is how I reached the decision on my house.  I scanned the paint chips, then applied each color to a photograph of the house by way of a computer program.  I could actually see how the color would look on the house and compare it to the way the other colors looked.  I am happy with the colors I chose.  This might not work with your wrap-a-round porch, since your house walls are in the shade.  Besides I had a lot of fun working it out on the computer.  I tried this method with the roof, too, but didn't have a photograph with enough roof to do a good job.  Now I need to decide what color to paint the front door as it needs it, too.

There is a "shingles shot" out now. Anyone over 60, might think about getting it.  Got mine last year. Next month I'll bug you all to get your flu shot.
