I'm going to answer the one about the man from Elk County that killed the dentist.

That man's name is Rick Barber.  Mr. Barber grew up in Howard, Kansas.  The family owned land south of Howard right on the river.  Mr. Barber used to work for SRS.  He became mentally ill.  He killed the dentist in Allen County, I think Iola.  He served his time.  He is not in the El Dorado Correctional Facility.

He was discharged in Feb. 1, 2005, because he had served his time.

One thing that might be worth considering is that the junction of K96 and K99 is pretty much in the middle of the Erueka MOA (Millitary Operations Area) and strange sights might occur as a result.
