Kettle Corn

Kettle Corn

Place oil and popcorn in a large skillet that has a tight fitting lid.

The popcorn should barely cover the bottom surface. Heat over
medium until the first kernel starts to pop. Quickly stir in the sugar
until dissolved. Cover and continuously shake skillet while holding
top.
Be careful, this will burn much quicker than regular popcorn.

When you think all is popped, remove from heat. Spoon the popped
corn into a bowl while shaking once in a while to let the uncooked
kernels settle. Salt lightly, and break up into pieces.

(Note: This may take a little practice, but well worth the effort!)

How much sugar  do you add to this???

yikes.. I don't use recipes as I use my hands to put a blob of this in ..a dash of that.. a handful of something else..
but I would say.. maybe equal parts of corn and sugar...

1/2 cup of unpopped corn to 1/2 c. sugar..

If you want it a bit less sweet, then cut your sugar down..

The whole idea is going to be pretty hard to market. I mean, even looking at the bright side, who is going to buy a box off the shelf at Dillon's marked:

"New, improved Unpooped Corn!"

There is just something about the concept that is not quite right.

I can see the packaging now.  Candy coated unpooped popcorn, peanuts and a prize.
The more you eat the more you want...the more you want the better you fell.  So why don't you have unpooped popcorn for every meal.

Now we just need some art work.....

Well, Darla, that's a good jingle, but I think we may be in a little bit of trouble with the artwork for unpooped corn. Given that the artwork is supposed to show the product in it's best light, I'm not sure that there is any light whatsoever to show unpooped corn...
