BENDURE, Jessie Belle (Britton) - b. January 7, 1877 - d. December 21, 1928

     Jessie Belle Britton was born near Harvard, Illinois on January 7, 1877 and departed this life on December 21, 1928 at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 14 days.  She was the daughter of Byron J. and Sarah A. Britton and came to Elk County at the age of six months, and she resided here the greater part of her life.
      She was united in marriage to A.E. Bendure on January 14, 1909.  She is survived by her husband; one daugher, Bernice E.; her mother, Mrs. Sarah A. Britton of Baldwin Park, California; three sisters as follows: Mrs. Grace Wynn of Baldwin Park, California; Mrs. Nellie M. Hill, Cherryvale, Kansas; and Mrs. Winifred V. McNeal of Emporia, Kansas.
     Mrs. Bendure was taken very sick about two months ago but seemed to get much better but the second attack proved fatal and she quietly passed away.
     Funeral services were held at the family home on Sunday afternoon, December 23, 1928, conducted by Mrs. Belle Reid Yates of Grenola, and the body was laid to rest at Forrest Hill Cemetery.  A great crowd of friends and neighbors attended the funeral, which was in charge of the Moon undertakers of Howard.
