This lady did not vamoose as the Severy newspaper predicted.

Mrs N. J. Portenier provided a little continuity for Santa Fe at Fiat.

She stuck around until the 1930s making $30 monthly as the railroad agent.  A female agent was a rarity back then and probably came about because it was difficult to keep men in such a small place.

She and her family also ran a general store in Fiat.

Does anyone have any pictures of Fiat as a town???   I would love to see some posted if there are any available.
