I am looking for some help with Perkins Kincheloe Hughes family history.  P.K. Hughes was my great, great grandfather.

Please if anyone has any info, or can direct me to a source, that would be really helpful.

Thanks, and this is a great site!

Checking the 1900 census info for Elk County, I find a Perkins Hughes, age 41, with wife Florence age 36.  His birthplace is listed as Kentucky.  They have 6 children listed:  Mary L. 15; Georgia, 13; Elizabeth, 10; Walter, 8; Blanche, 5; Guy, 8 months.  Is this the family you're looking for?

The 1880 census shows Perkins Hughes, age 21, living with parents John B. (64) and Mary (44).  Also listed are Benjamin, 23; Amiolee, 15; Mary, 13; and William Reeder, 15.

The Elk County History Book has a family history section on the Barackman family, which includes mention of John Bradley and Mary (Kincheloe) Hughes.  Their daughter, Annie Lee married Jacob Bertram Barackman in Howard on Oct. 30, 1883.  It says she was born at Covington, KY, Aug. 20, 1863.

That's all I can provide for now, but will see what more I can find.  Hopefully, I've hit on something new to you and aren't just repeating what you already know.  Please let me know which is the case.

Thanks!  The Perkins and Florence is correct - with their son Walter my great grandfather.  I believe that Walter Hughes  and Annie Lee (Barackman) were siblings.   This would be the same line...This info about marraiges and birthplaces is new.  Thanks so much.  I have info that says that Perkins and Florence is buried at Grace Lawn Cemetary with other family.  Do you know if there is a resource for Grace Lawn?  Any help is greatly appreciated... thanks again.

You may have already discovered that there is a SEARCH feature to the forum.  Entering in 'Hughes' will get you any post with that name in it.  There's several that deal with P. K. and/or Walter.
