The funeral referred to in this article was my grandmother Roma Elting Turner's.

Start, Wild Cat, Ohio and Elk Falls Granges met in Olson's grove one mile east of Elk Fall,
Saturday, August 22.  There was a large attendance, each Grange being well represented.
The parade was delayed waiting for folks from Moline who attended the funeral of Mrs J. W. Turner.  There were some very nice floats from Star and Wild Cat especially.  A bountiful dinner was spread picnic fasion.  After dinner the Elk Falls Cornet band played a few numbers.  A trio by Ohio grils was very much enjoyed.  Readings by Geo. Smith and Mrs. Clyde Dexter won applause.  A little girl recited and two little boys sang.  The address by the State Lecturer of Oklahoma was very fine.  This was followed by an address by a speaker from Labette, Kansas, Mr. Sanders, which was practical and which ought to gring good results.  At the close of the program swimming contests took place in Elk river.  Then several athletic events over in Mr. Olson's alfalfa field.  We are unable to give names of the winners.  The social features of the occasion were very enjoyable.  The writer met friends of other days, that he had not seen for twenty years and others that he seldom meets.
     S. Frazier, Dr. Shaffer, Mr. and Mrs. McClure, Mr and Mrs. George Harris, Mrs. Clara Webb, Rev. J. B. Cooper, Hudson Fuhrer and others represented Moline, H. E. Brighton from Longton, W. H. Walker and C.C. McDiarmid of Howard were present at the picnic
