J.W. Darr Killed in Explosion - 1912)

J. W. Darr instantly lost his life in an explosion at the rock quarry while engaged in his ordinary work there.  He was born in West Virginia and was 34 years old at his death.  His mother, two sisters and his wife of only a month are left as nearest of kin to mourn his untimely loss.  The men from the rock quarry attended the burial services in a body marching in order to the Cemetary, each bearing a floral tribute which they deposited on the casket after a short service.

This graceful work of interest and sympathy by these men will be fully appreciated by the citizens of this community as well as the thoughtfullness of the men who either took or sent their autos out to convey the marchers back to town.  How truly are we in the midst of death while yet in life.
