You are all Welcome to come and stay at my house.  I have lots of room in this big place of mine, a  long the Colorado River in Needles Ca.   If you get toooo.... hot you can take a dip in our clean ice cold river.  And there is one casino's about 12 miles up the road and 9 more 25 miles up river. Plenty of golf courses . hikeing and quad trails and mountains to clime, and even fishing and water sking to do.... We even have the London Brigde 45 miles from here in Lake Havasu City AZ.  And also 2 hours drive to beautiful Las Vegas Nv.   So if your enterested in drying out , come on out.

My daughter just moved back to Parker, AZ where she was raised and her first message was "it hasn't changed", she left there in 1985.  I told her it hasn't changed since the first time I went there in 1961.  Most people there do have a/c now and they have a casino on the edge of town, oh yes, they have paved the streets.  Annual rainfall is supposed to be 2", might get that in four or five years.

Here in Texas where I am at we are getting anywhere from 1 to 4 inches a day and I have been on vacation all week.  Can't even get the yard mowed or weeds pulled.  To hot and humid to do much even when the rain lets up.  Spent most of the vacation days sewing and doing genealogy.  Have enjoyed the stress free days anyway.

Enjoying reading what everyone posts.

I had a friend in Omaha when I was about done growing up that moved back to Parker, AZ. I drove through a few years later and I recall thinking that it didn't look like much, but at least it wasn't very crowded.

Parker, Az. still doesn't look like much.  It is starting to grow a bit. My husband has go work there about 5-8 times a year on the gas lines. Parker is about 1hr. and 15 minutes away.  Here  in Needles we don't even get a measuable amount of rain in one year.  I takes several years to get that.  And the desert soaks it up faster then a streak of lightling....  Lots of tourist visit and stay there because of the Colorado River and all the resorts along the river. You all should try it sometime.  Only one casino do there though.   Blue Water Casino.

I've been to Needles. I recall it was hot and the beer I had with lunch tasted really good. I came through the last time with a friend named Floyd on the way to a job I was doing in Columbus, Ohio, where Floyd knew some of the people I was working with. I had been there a couple of times before. I used to meet my parents at the house of an uncle in Lake Havasu every couple of years.

I remember one Spring how much temperature difference there was between Flagstaff and Lake Havasu, all in one day. The body is not meant to go from below freezing to over 100 in a few hours.

If I can find them I have pictures that we took during and after a hurricane in Parker, AZ.  I was there for two hurricanes and they were nothing compared to the hurricanes here in Texas.  I have been in hurricanes here in Texas and ran from Rita, don't think I would do that again.  Broke in a brand new car at 4 miles an hour, took 12 hours when it normally takes 2 hours to get to Lufkin.  And then another twelve hours to Texarkana.

The first one was in 1976 or 1977, and the last one was probably around 2001.  Lots of wind and rain but not very many trees to blow down.

I think what we should do is box up all this water and mail it to desertlilydarla, so she can enjoy this rain, too.

As of early this morning, we got 22 inches as close as we can tell..
