Good morning,
Since I didn't write any thing for the "Howard Happenings" column this week in the Prairie Star I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the request for a birthday card shower for Sarah Koop.  Her 80th birthday is the 9th of this month ... this coming Sunday.  Please remember her.
  Thank you.
Jo
IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER....
THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!

Good morning....
We're going to be leaving Escondido this afternoon, driving to Longton.  So, I will be seeing some of you, when we arrive, which will probably be Sunday evening or Monday.   Looking forward to that!

Take care.

Just a comment or two:

The times, they are a'changing.

USD 282 schools are out this week. Then it's summer, and a lot of change. All the elementary classrooms have to pack up and get ready to move. Most of the junior high and high school classrooms also have to pack up - the teachers are being assigned different rooms as space is made for the elementary classes. Lots of stress situations possible.

Students have graduated and are moving on with their lives - some coming home, some moving away.

We've truly had a mild spring here - but the last couple of days have definitely been summer-reminders.

We had a nice church service today - graduates attended, new members, old friends, lovely visitors, red balloons. A nice crowd for Pentecost. Quite a few stayed for the reception afterward. The reception included a wide variety of cakes so everyone could find something they liked.

Speaking of schools, our Christina School District held a 19 million dollar general referendum yesterday. It passed by 26 votes, 3,049 to 3,023. It will be about $.35 per hundred of assessed property value for owners.  Renters pay none. Our school tax increase will phase in over 3 years. $106.00 in year one, an additional $50.00 in year two and and additional $40.00 in year three. Can you guess how Al and I voted?

Just want to tell everyone I will be gone this weekend.

50 years ago, I graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka, this weekend we are have a celebration.

God willing, I will be attending and then seeing what the family has been up to. Haven't been able to go home
since Thanksgiving. Money is tight and the powers that be kept us all apart.

I will be home either Sunday evening or Monday for sure. No devotions until then.
See you next week.
God bless you all.
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

Have a wonderful time Judy. I'm glad you are doing something nice for yourself. Does it seem possible that it's your 50th?

Have a safe trip and enjoy the reunion.  Looking forward to your posts when you return.  My 50th will be in two years and I have no desire to travel to Colorado for a reunion.  In this day and age, maybe they will have an Internet connection setup so everyone who isn't there can take part.

HELP!  I'm talking and I can't shut up!

I came...  I saw...  I had NO idea what was going on...

Larry, I always like to see who has gotten fat and sassy liike me. We have all passed the stage about bragging
about what we are doing, or what our kids are doing.

Now, we all talk about our aches and pains, and who had heart surgery...........or replace a hip or knee, etc.

And, most have become friendlier than when I was in school.

I was the original Wall Flower................and was very shy ( still am, but fake it) and of course, no one went out of
their way to help me. Except for my best girlfriend and God bless her, we are still close...........
In fact we will be attending together..................Isn't it funny how we all go through life and none of us get by without a hardship or a trial of some kind.
Diane, I am still the insecure kid who just graduated and until I stand up, then I remember I am over the hill
Life is good...I am looking forward to our next one, we do it in 5 years.
Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!
