   George William Myers, son of Luis and Alice Myers was born in Elk county near Longton, September 6, 1888 and died at his home near Grenola February 26, 1932, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Aged 43 years, 6 months and 20 days.
   He was married to Mary Alderson, December 22, 1915 at Howard, Kansas.  To this union were born three children, Marie aged 15; Glenn, 13 and Mary May nine.
   He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Alice Myers and 4 sisters, Mrs. Nora Spear of Howard; Mrs. Jane Murphy, Longton; Mrs. Susie Campbell, Eureka; and Mrs Lydia Munster, Huron, South Dakota, and one brother Alpha Myers of Eureka.
   He united with the Nazarene church when a boy, later during the Rose revival meeting uniting with the Methodist Episcopal church at Howard.
   Mr. Myers had the name if being a good friend and neighbor and leaves many friends who mourn with the family in his untimely end.
   Not now, but in the coming years.
    It may be in that Better Land;
   We'll know the meaning of our tears,
    And then, ah then we'll understand.
   Funeral rites were held at Howard. Sunday at 2:30 p. m., conducted by Mrs. Beele Reid Yates, assisted by Rev. W. C. Chappel of the Howard M. E. church.  The pall bearers were his relatives who were also his neighbors, Roy Dory, Earl Dory, Harry Dory, Troy Dory, Lloyd Harlett and Charles Greenwood.
