Howard Courant
February 17, 1921

The home of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Clark, northeast of Howard, was the scene of a very pretty wedding, Wednesday evening, February 16, 1921, when Miss M. Marie Clark and Mr. A. Henry Kling were joined in matrimony.

The interesting ceremony was performed by Rev. H. F. Crane, pastor of the Howard M. E. church, at 7:00 o'clock. Miss Opal Clark and Frank Clark supported the bride and groom as maid and groomsman.  The ring ceremony was used.  Miss Esther Clark acting as ring bearer.  Miss Leota Spencer played the wedding march as the bridal party approached the pastor to be made husband and wife.

About thirty-five guests were present, and immediately after the ceremony the company was served with an elegant two-course dinner.

The happy couple are now away on a short wedding trip to Salina and neighboring towns, after which they will return to Elk county and be at home on the Clark farm after March 10th.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark (?) are well known and popular in their home neighborhood, and this entire community join The Courant in wishing them a long, happy and useful married life.

Note:  This is transcribed as it appeared in the newspaper.  However, I believe the article should have read Mr. and Mrs. Kling, instead of Clark.  A. Henry Kling later became one of the Howard postmasters.
