Severy men serve with U.S. Navy in the Pacific

Two Severy men, Electrician's Mate Third Class James D. Crismas, USN, and Engineman Third Class Henry H. Jacobs, USN, have returned to Sasbo, Japan aboard the repair ship USS Ajax after two months of work commitments in the ports of Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Subic Bay, Republican of the Philippines.
While in Taiwan, repair crews from the Ajax, assisted in major repairs to the damaged hull of the radar picket destroyer USS Frank Knox, which ran aground 240 miles southwest of Taiwan, while enroute to Taiwan.
The Ajax, flagship for Commander Service Group Three, then sailed for Subic Bay to host 14 newsmen from the Republic of China on an orientation tour of U.S. Navy installations in the Far East.
In addition crewmen of the Ajax donated blood to be flown to the Clark Air Base Hospital for injured servicemen returning from Viet Nam.
Mr. And Mrs. Alva L. Crismas and Mr. Mrs. Richard P. Jacobs are the parents of the young men.
